In 1986, the Naylor family sold the business to Richard Gagliani and Robert Wilkie, who had a lengthy and successful history in the heavy-duty truck component remanufacturing business. That experience allowed Naylor to expand into the heavy-duty truck market in clutch, brake, transmission and differential remanufacturing, as well as to continue the friction material bonding service. After the death of Robert Wilkie in 1996, Paul Januska became the company Vice President and General Manager. Rich Gagliani retired in 2012, and Paul Januska stepped up to fill his shoes as new President of the company.
The business continued to grow, moving into a larger facility at 4645 South Knox Avenue - its current home. Naylor Automotive Engineering continues to enjoy a brisk business as the pre-eminent clutch and related product source in the greater Chicago-land metropolitan area. Located in the heart of Chicago's industrial south side, Naylor stands ready to serve its growing customer base with long experienced employees, quality service and parts as one of the last remaining clutch remanufacturers in the Northern Illinois area.
The general business philosophy and mission statement of Naylor Automotive Engineering Co., Inc. contributes daily to the "greening" of the Chicago area by providing a more economical alternative to purchasing new parts, by remanufacturing existing components through the recycling of raw material, helping to avoid a larger carbon footprint. With its strong and dominant history of remanufacturing, Naylor has developed a way to provide quality material and services that are less costly and less harmful to the environment. No matter how you look at it, remanufacturing makes good business sense, now and in the future.
